summer holidays

the summer holidays are always a bit strange: 6-9 weeks of freedom when you're at school, then like 3 months from Uni. But the workers get a rough deal: 4 weeks holidays a year or something.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but perhaps I'm just nostalgic for the easy summers we had when we were in primary school and were content just to play in the park, run around like savages, be the free children we were. somewhere along the line, we lost that mindset, we thought we need to earn money, we can't just enjoy the summer months, bath in the sun, run around in stupid swimsuits and play in the backgarden with water guns. No, we've gotta go to work. Begrudge our families the time spend with them, moan about work and missing the weather with our friends instead of having picnics and making the most of the evenings..

so, who wants to go for a picnic? anyone?
enjoy your summers.

this was my most random post to date.
just thought you should all know that.

The Lugubrious

We are the faceless. We are the unenchanted.
We roam and roam and roam and roam.
Face us and confront us,
find us for we are the lost.
Close your eyes and dream of us, open your eyes -
See us.
You can't ignore us, we are the nightmares, the fears
the tugging heart strings, at your back, in front,
Lingering above you, trailing beneath you.
We're not unbeatable, take us on,
Give us faces. Enchant us. Share with us hope.
And we'll give you peace. Defeat us.
Show us a smile, we'll show you ours.

Limericks

1.
In a state of fantastical haste,
Thom let his food go to waste.
Forgetting to eat
Is a remarkable feat,
But leaves an unremarkable taste.

2.
Michael indeed was an unruly child -
Chose a life that was free and wild;
Then adventuring one morn,
A wise man did warn
That his antics were getting him riled.

3.
There once lived a woman from Orkney
That didn't know how to do limericks.

4.
There once was a man who resembled a duck,
And found it was ever so hard to [have sexual intercourse].
You see a duck has no [penis]
(This may come as a shock)
So to this poor man, I wish him luck!

5.
There lives a man who talks more than needed,
To his friends is this sadly condeded.
A concept he can't accept
And is rather unadept,
Is that the end is the end, never exceeded,
But he just never learns.

Window man

Gordon has been complaining that I never post on here.
Which is true..because I never have anything good to say!

So I was trying to think of something to write about.

Then when I was cleaning my room I found some ideas for my stories I wanted to write when I was about 12.

So I thought I'd tell you what one of them was going to be about.

The Window Man

There was a young girl (I didn't pick a name) who was very lonely. She didn't have any friends, and she didn't know why. She was an only child.

One day, she drew a stick figure man with a smile on her bedroom window. She felt so comforted by him, that he became her new friend. She made him dance and he made her laugh.

That night, she fell asleep, happy in the knowledge that she had a friend.

But the next morning, she woke up and discovered that he was gone: only a faint smudge of his smile and an arm remained.

But through the silouhette of the window man she saw a boy across the road, moving into the hosue across the street.
The girl looked back at the window man and smiled.

Anyway, yes, so you see what kind of strange ideas I have in my head!

But I do have my story that I've been writing for about 4 years now..that one is alright. But you shall not see it, until it is finished! (which will be probably 10 years :) )
