Counterfeit Dunn
An Arrival In Reform Street
By Gordon Strachan
Inspired by 'A Removal From Terry Street' by Douglas Dunn
The truck pulled in, out of the back came
As one might expect
The furniture, cabinets, toaster and knives.
A boy and his sister playfully argue
Over who had the ball first.
The boy, dressed in jeans, pulls her hair. The father
Lifting his daughter onto his back. The boy cries.
Glad to welcome this wischief we are not.
The mother carries gardening tools,
Still in fine condition, unmuddied.
Their garden is but a wasteland. The weeds
Crop up unruly and unordered from the ground
Good luck to the woman I say. I wish her flowers.

Yeah, but to be fair, I did that homework of writing a poem for you to save you time but you refused it, and wrote your own. If you didn't like it, you only had to say. I thought it was pretty good. Maybe you could post it up here if it's not in the bin ;)
